Organization Settings

Before processing transactions, complete your Organization Settings in BeeBooks. This ensures everything is configured correctly for your business.

(You’ll typically find Settings under a gear icon beside your Profile icon.)


Where to Find & What to Prepare

  • Path: Settings (gear) → Organization Settings
  • Have ready: legal name, address, tax ID, logo file, fiscal year start, default currency, team emails/roles, and your chart of accounts structure.

Organization Profile

Configure your company identity and defaults:

  • Legal Name & Address
  • Tax ID and contact details
  • Fiscal Year Start Date
  • Default Currency
  • Logo (prints on invoices, quotes, receipts)

Users & Roles

Control access and responsibilities:

  • Add Team Members and create user accounts
  • Assign Roles/Permissions (e.g., Sales, Accountant, Admin)
  • Ensure only the right people can view/modify financial data

Chart of Accounts

Set up your accounting backbone:

  • Verify key accounts exist: Cash, Accounts Receivable, Inventory, Expenses, etc.
  • Customize or add accounts as needed
  • Consider reviewing with your accountant for accuracy

Setup Checklist

Work through each item before entering live transactions:

  • Organization Profile completed
  • Tax & Compliance details confirmed
  • Users & Roles assigned
  • Chart of Accounts verified
  • Any other system checklist items (profile, tax, users, etc.) done

Example guidance: Many systems (e.g., Zoho Books) recommend using the Settings tab to complete a full organization setup after the initial quick start.
